3/28  8:36AM - Police are speaking out over the detainment of a Troy man wanted for producing child pornography, who ended up back on the street after being detained.

Pinellas Park, Florida Police Sgt. Adam Geissenberger says they were forced to release Jesse Sawyer Jr. after  failing to receive confirmation from the FBI that an arrest warrant had been issued.

Troy Police Chief John Tedesco isn't buying it.  He says, "why didn't they just retain him?  They knew there was probable cause for an arrest.  Whatever the technical difficulties with the warrant happened to be, have those corrected."

Sawyer had been staying at a church homeless shelter. Geissenberger says once they received confirmation, they returned to the location but Sawyer was gone.

He's accused of producing pornography involving three girls under the age of 6.
