This song took awhile to get radio airplay. When the movie Eddie and the Cruisers was first released, not many people went to see it. But once HBO got it and started airing it, EVERYONE watched, and suddenly, the music was being played everywhere! The band that sang in the movie, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band got some recognition, mainly because they sounded a lot like Bruce Springsteen. In the movie, Eddie is played by Michael Pare who is not a singer, thus the band filling in on the musical parts.
