Carly Simon Has Written A New Book About Her Friendship with Jackie O!

Carly Simon’s new book, “Touched by the Sun: My Friendship with Jackie,” about her friendship with Jackie Kennedy Onassis, came out Tuesday, and in a new interview with “Today” Carly opened up about Jackie’s final moments. “It’s seared in my brain what she looked like,” Carly shared. “She was so ravishing, and wearing this little handkerchief scarf, paisley scarf on her head, and looking so beautiful and so regal and so finally at home.”  Carly says she got to tell Jackie that she loved her before she passed away from cancer, sharing, that she was there with Jackie’s sonJohn Jr., noting, “I couldn’t believe my friend was slipping away. Carly admits that she’s “nervous” discussing the book, admitting that it could be that she feels like she’s violating her friendship with Jackie by talking about it. She says “The idea of talking about Jackie, who is such an icon, she means so much to so many people and if I didn’t get it right, I’d be really angry with myself.” As for her friend, Carly shares that Jackie “didn’t have license to be free,” adding, “she was a naughty girl and she liked that in herself and she liked it in other people."  I've also attached the video for the song Touched by the Sun. This is a song Carly wrote for her friend Jackie before she passed away. It's beautiful!
