Dilemma: I Used the Ladies Room For A Bathroom Emergency and Got in Trouble

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Andy and it's about getting in trouble at work for something embarrassing. Here's his email: Hi Jaime. I am having a work issue I need help with. I came into work this morning and found that I’ve been called into the H.R. office. Last week, I had some lunch that didn’t agree with me and had to make a mad dash to the nearest restroom. Unfortunately, the nearest restroom is the ladies’ room. To be fair, I backed in and yelled “is anyone in here” before running to the bathroom and doing what had to be done…and no one was in there…nor did anyone come in. I guess someone saw me walk out though, because now I’m being called in to be reprimanded for what I did. I know I shouldn't be in the ladies' room, but it would have been worse if I didn't go into the ladies' room, if you know what I mean. Do you think this is something I could really be reprimanded for? What should I tell HR? Hope you can help. Thanks ~ Andy. Well I feel bad for Andy. That's a tough situation to be in, and speaking solely for myself, I would have completely understood if he had to run into the ladies' room. I think he just needs to tell the truth. I'm sure pretty much everyone has had that kind of situation happen, and HR should understand. What do you think? Let's help Andy out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
