Social Dilemma: My Boss Disparaged Me In Front of A Client! What Do I Do?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Rebecca, and it's about how to deal with your boss. Here's her email: Hi Jaime. I need some good advice. Last week, I got on a video call with my boss, a client, and another coworker. I was a few minutes late to the call because I was finishing up with another client, but everything seemed fine on the call, and I helped close the deal. But then I got a text from my other coworker on the call, saying that right before I signed on, our boss was disparaging my work in front of the client and my coworker. I have been working here longer than my boss and I believe I’m actually a better asset to the company than he is, so I’m devastated that he would be talking bad about me to a client. Plus it's completely inappropriate. Should I approach upper management about this or confront my boss about it? Or should I just shake it off and try to forget about it? Hope your dilemma listeners can help with good advice. Thanks so much ~ Rebecca. Well, I would definitely confront my boss about it first, in as calm a way as possible, and if that did nothing, I would inform him I was going above his head to upper management and HR. What would your advice be. Let's help Rebecca out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
