Social Dilemma: Is It Stealing If I'm Using My Neighbor's Wi-Fi?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Leigh and it's about wi-fi passwords and neighbors. Here's her email: Hi Jaime. I have a bit of a moral dilemma. For the past six months, I've been using my neighbor's Wi-Fi because they shared the password with me when I first moved in. They haven't seemed to notice, and it's saved me a lot of money. Last week, they mentioned in passing that their Internet speeds have been really slow. Should I fess up and offer to chip in on the bill? Or should I just keep quiet and enjoy the free Internet while it lasts? Is it really stealing if they gave me the password? What would you do? What should I do? Help me out Thanks so much ~ Leigh. I think this one is simple. I would first tell them that I was still using their wi-fi because it just got away from me, and then I would either offer to pay part of the bill, or offer to get off their wi-fi and get my own. I think that's the right way to go. I think perhaps the neighbors were trying to hint at that with Leigh without coming right out and asking. What do you think? What would you do? Let's help Leigh out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
