Social Dilemma: Am I A Bad Mom For Not Letting My Kid Go to a Sleepover?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma is about kid sleepovers. Here's the email: Hi Jaime, my name is Maggie and I’m a single mom and wanted to get your opinion on something to do with my 7-year-old daughter. So my daughter is in the Girl Scouts and the troop is close which is nice. A few of the moms organize sleepovers with the girls and I’ve not let my daughter go to one because I’m worried about her sleeping over someone’s house because she has nightmares and sometimes pees her bed. She keeps begging me to let he go but I don’t want her to have an accident or call home to get picked up in the middle of the night, I’m afraid it will make the girls look at her differently but she doesn’t understand that. So am I being a good mother or a bad mother for not letting her go the Girl Scout sleep over? What would you do in my situation? Thanks ~ Maggie I think I would talk with the mom of the kid having the sleepover and let her know the situation. Perhaps Maggie's little girl could sleep in her own sleeping bag in case anything happened. Or at the very least, let her go over for the evening, until about 11pm. What do you think? Let's help Maggie out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
