Social Dilemma - Is It Okay to Give A 17 Year Old Kid A Non-Alcoholic Beer?

After some fun and silly social dilemmas, today's is a very serous one.  It comes from Donna.

Hi Jaime...this is a real social dilemma.  I need to know if I'm making a big deal out of this. My son's high school coach gave him and a few of his friend's non-alcoholic beers after practice one day. I just found this out. (My son is 17) I saw my son's Instagram page where he was drinking O'Douls (Non-Alcoholic Beer). I asked my son where he got it from and he said his coach gave it to him. It wasn't his head coach. It was the assistant. I told the head coach about this and he actually defended his assistant. He said that we should be happy that his assistant coach was promoting non-alcoholic beverages to our sons. I was floored. Isn't this weird? Or am I making too big of a deal out of this? I was wondering if I need to get the school board and athletic director involved. I feel like this is a very inappropriate situation to put minors in. Do I get the school board involved or is this not a big deal?  Help me out Jaime.  Thanks so much Donna

Wow, this is a serious social dilemma.  I don't think Donna is making a big deal out of nothing.  I would be upset too.  Non alcoholic beer still has one percent of alcohol in it, plus it tastes just like regular beer, which might make the kid want to try the real stuff.  I would definitely go to the athletic director and explain that.    What do you think?  Big deal or not?
