Well this is a new twist on an old story. Let's face it, for years, Elvis fans have thought that he is still alive, seeing him at Burger Kings and Truck stops all over the USA. But now, Elvis Presley’s ex-wife Priscilla Presley is convinced that The King took his own life. At the premiere of the upcoming HBO documentary “Elvis Presley: The Searcher,” Priscilla says that Elvis, who died of a drug overdose “knew what he was doing.” Priscilla says people in Elvis’ life tried to get him to quit drugs, but were unsuccessful. “People go, well why didn't anyone do anything? Well, that's not true,” she said. “People there in the inner group did, but you did not tell Elvis Presley what to do. You did not. I mean, you'd be out of there faster than a scratched cat. They would try and no way.” Priscilla’s comments come just a few months after letters from Elvis to his friend and road manager Joe Esposito were discovered, in which the singer complained of being depressed. “I'm sick and tired of my life' and 'I need a long rest,” Elvis had written, adding that his not being able to kick drugs and “losing Priscilla” were “'the greatest mistake of my life.” This is a new twist on the story. We've always heard that Elvis had a heart attack while trying to go to the bathroom. And that of course, that heart attack was brought on by his years of abusing drugs. But taking his own life. Never heard that one before. What do you think? Could it be true? Priscilla knew him better than anyone else. Now I really can't wait to see that documentary.
