Luke Bryan And Wife Foster Rescue Dog 4 Months After Losing Senior Canine

Luke Bryan and his wife Caroline have opened their hearts and homes once again to a dog in need.

Back in February, the Bryans adopted an 18-year-old dog named Poochie after he was surrendered to the Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue in Tennessee. He lived like a true king and was smothered in love, kisses, pettings, and playtime by the family. Sadly, he passed away just nine days after the Bryans took him home.

The country singer and his family wanted to extend their love to another dog and have since started fostering a canine, named Kimmie, who was rescued from a kill shelter. The animal rescue shared the good news on Instagram Wednesday (June 19) that the Bryans would be taking her home.

Brett's Barn, part of The Brett Boyer Foundation, also shared news online. "The poor girl was being kept in a little cage with her previous owner so Luke and Caroline decided to take her in," the photo's caption reads. "She is super sweet and has been great with the dogs and kiddos!"

The Brett Boyer Foundation was launched in 2017 by the Bryans in memory of their niece, Sadie Brett Boyer, who passed away at seven months old. Brett's Barn is a sanctuary for animals and also acts as a therapy center for children with various illnesses.

The couple will be caring for Kimmie until the animal rescue finds the perfect forever home for her — unless the Bryans fall in love and decide to keep her, of course!
