Social Dilemma-Is It Important To Celebrate Valentines with Your Sweetie

Valentine's Day is today!. Yesterday, when I was in a meeting with some of my coworkers, while we were supposed to be working, we went off on a tangent about Valentine's Day. We started talking about whether or not you celebrate Valentine's Day if you've been married or together for a long time. My sweetie and I like to buy nice cards for each other. That's pretty much it. We've been together for over 20 years so we don't feel the need to make a big deal out of it. Plus we try to do little things for each other "just because" from time to time. One of our AE's, Donna said she and her husband like to go out to a fancy place that they would never go to throughout the year. My coworker Alex, said he and his wife will get around to it when they can because life is busy, they have two kids, two jobs, and they know they love each other so it's all good. So I was curious. Are more people like Alex and me, who have been together so long that going crazy on Valentine's Day isn't necessary, or are more people like Donna, who even though she and her husband have been together a long time, still carve out time to go to dinner on that special day.  How do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Would you be upset if your sweetie didn't do SOMETHING for that day, or would you be okay with it? I'd be fine with it. What about you? Let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
