Social Dilemma-Do You Tip When Your Order Take Out?

Today's social dilemma came from Carla, and it's one that I've definitely talked about with friends so I think you'll be able to relate to it. This is what she wrote: Hi Jaime. My dilemma is a question I've had for a long time. And I've gotten all kinds of different answers from friends, so I'm coming to you. Are you supposed to tip when you order take out and go pick it up? I think yes, absolutely. Not as much as you would tip if you were at a restaurant, but definitely a tip of some kind. Some friends and family members agree, while others do not. Their reason is the person isn't serving me, so what am I tipping for, but I think they're packaging up the food, so I should tip them for that. I always leave a couple of bucks in the jar, or add it onto my credit card. Like I said others do not. I just wouldn't feel right about it. So what do you think Jaime. Should you tip when you order and pick up take out? I'll be listening Thanks so much ~ Carla. Well, I'm like Carla. I always tip when I pick up take out. It's not 20 or 22 percent like it would be if I was sitting down at the restaurant, but I'll tip a few bucks to thank them for getting it all ready for me. But that's just my take. What do you think? Let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
