Regal Cinemas made a big announcement earlier this week! They plan on reopening their theaters on August 21st, just in time for the release of the new Christopher Nolan movie, Tenet. A couple of weeks ago, AMC Theaters announced they would be reopening in mid-late August but gave no specific date. Now keep in mind, most Hollywood blockbusters have been pushed back on the schedule because they want to make sure that people will actually go to the movies to see them. And just because Regal and AMC will reopen, it doesn't mean that they'll reopen in every state. For instance, here in NY, while we're in Phase Four, Governor Cuomo hasn't given the go-ahead yet for movie theaters So we'll have to see what happens between now and August 21st. Plus if movie studios believe theaters are truly reopening across the country, they may end up releasing those big movies they've been holding back on. Of course, the theaters would have safety protocols in place, meaning operating at 50% capacity, masks on, frequent cleanings and at least two empty seats between groups of people.
