S Dilemma: Should You Ask Family/Friends if It's Okay to Post Photos on FB

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Carrie Ann and it's about pictures and social media. Here's her email: Hi Jaime. I have a Facebook question for you. I recently got together with my sister and some friends for dinner and we had a wonderful time. Of course, we were taking pictures together while we were enjoying each other. Well, one of our friends decided to post some of those pictures on Facebook without asking any of us if it was okay. I think that's wrong. I think you should ask everyone in the picture if it's okay to post it. What if I didn't look good in the picture? What if my sister didn't? Shouldn't we have a say in that? My friend who posted the pictures said she was just sharing what a wonderful time we all had together, and she thinks everyone worries too much about social media. I say it's not up to her to say. What do you think? Thanks for the help ~ Carrie Ann. Well, I'm with Carrie Ann's friend on this one. Sounds like everyone had a great time, so why wouldn't you want to share that with everyone. I feel like sometimes everyone wants to look perfect on social media when the truth is, none of us are. That being said, if Carrie Ann asked her friend to take the picture down, I would probably take it down, but not before voicing my objection. What do you think? Should everyone get "right of first refusal" when photos are taken at a gathering? Let me know what you think on the TRY Facebook page.
