Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Liz and it's about her babysitter. Here's her email: Hi Jaime. I have a real dilemma that I'm hoping you and your friends can help out with. I'm a 43 year old single mom with two children. I had my kids later in life so they're young, 7 and 4. Anyway, my husband is no longer in the picture so I'm their sole provider, which is not a problem. However, I do like to go out from time to time, so I have a babysitter who is 19 who I've used in the past. However, recently I came home from an early date (home by 9:15), and I found my babysitter sound asleep on the couch with the kids crawling playing on the floor. The older one had gotten into the chips and they were all over the place. Thankfully nothing bad had happened, but when I woke her up, she told me she must have just fallen asleep. That's obviously not true, since the kids were supposed to be in bed at 7:30 and 8:00 respectively. I didn't think I should have to pay her so I didn't. Now I'm hearing from her parents and she's threatening to post horrible things about me on social media. What would you have done? Hope you can help me out. Thanks so much ~ Liz This is a hard situation. You have to be able to trust your babysitter. It sounds like Liz has used her in the past with no problems. This was a major screw up though. I think I still would have paid her, she was at the house, but you live and learn and never hire her again, and let other friends who might use her know the deal. What do you think?
