Social Dilemma: Should You Be Pressured To Give to a Coworker's Charity Run

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Edward and it's about money at work. Here's his email: Hi Jaime. I need some help with how to handle a situation at work. One of my coworkers is doing a charity run and has been aggressively asking for donations at work. I support the cause, but I really can't afford to donate right now. Nearly everyone else in the office has donated, so I’m feeling pressured to do the same, but with the holidays and all, I really can't afford it. A few people have asked me what I'm waiting for. I’d be willing to give five bucks, but I don’t want to seem cheap. Should I give in and donate what everyone else is donating even though I truly can't afford it, just give what I can, or pretend I forgot to donate? Help me out. Thanks ~Edward. I don't think anyone should be shamed for giving or not giving to a charity. None of us know what the other person's financial situation is. I think Edward should just be honest and say I'm not in a position to donate right now. What do you think? Let's help Edward out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
