"Bed Rotting" tops Sleep TikTok Trends Americans are using:
- The most common trend people have experimented with is “bed rotting” - or staying in bed for an extended amount of time, like a day or longer, doing things other than sleep, like scrolling on social media, to rest and recuperate.
- Almost a quarter (24%) of Gen Z respondents have tried bed rotting and 14% of all respondents have.
- About 10% of those polled have tried the Scandinavian sleep method - where a couple sharing a bed uses separate blankets instead of sharing.
- Another sleep microtrend people have tried from TikTok is the “sleepy girl mocktail” - a drink made with magnesium that’s supposed to improve sleep - which 9% of respondents have sipped before bed.
- Sleeping in 90-minute increments is another TikTok hack 9% of those polled have tried.
- Mouth taping is a viral sleep trend that involves putting tape over the lips to force the sleeper to breathe through their nose, something 5% have attempted.
