I was talking to some friends who went to a cocktail party at someone's house last week. The party was from 5-7 and right at 7 o'clock, the host started flicking the lights on and off to let people know the party was over. WOW! That seems a little harsh to me. I mean, it's like closing time at a bar or nightclub. Would you do that to your guests? I think that's crazy. I'd never do that but I hate when people stay past when they should. I don't have a lot of parties, but I have about five or six large gatherings at my house a year, and while I wouldn't do the lights, I have tried to use my body language. You know, yawning, starting to wash the dishes and clean up. Talk about going to bed. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. We all have that friend that just doesn't want to leave. So what do you do to get people to leave your home when the party is over, or do you just stick it out until they decide it's time to leave?
