Social Dilemma-Is It Rude to Open Someone Else's Fridge?

Today's social dilemma came from a conversation we were having in the lunch room last week.  And it's about refrigerators, which sounds weird, but you'll understand in a minute.  We were talking about how growing up, my house was the house everyone came to after school and ate out of the fridge.  This was not the case at my best friend's house...we were NEVER allowed to open the fridge there.  One of my coworkers said she thinks it is rude to open someone else's fridge because you work hard for that food. I think it's fine. Mi casa es su casa.  I like people to feel comfortable in my house.  Now don't get me wrong, if it's someone I just met, that would be weird, but if it's a good friend of mine, sure, open the fridge, take what you need.  But others in the lunch room said they HATED it when people thought they could just go take whatever they wanted and that it was absolutely wrong.   So I thought, as always, I would ask you.   Do you care if a friend comes to your house and opens your fridge?  Would you be upset by that, or do you think it's fine.  Let me know what you think on the 98-3 TRY Facebook page.
