The Movie Tootsie is Now Being Turned into a Broadway Show!

I'm starting to believe there really is no more creativity in the arts in Hollywood and NYC.   We know there are a lot of TV reboots and remakes, and of course, there's always movie remakes, but now Broadway shows based on popular movies?!?!?!?  It's true.   Pretty Woman, the Musical just opened on Broadway and of course, it's based on the Richard Gere, Julia Roberts film.  Well now comes word that we will be seeing Tootsie the Broadway musical beginning on March 29th.   In case you don't remember the movie, Dustin Hoffman played a talented but difficult actor who struggles to find work until he dresses as a woman and gets a part on a soap opera.  The Broadway show will star Santino Fontana, who was on TV in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.  Presale tickets go on sale on September 12th for American Express cardholders and to the general public on October 1st.  Find out more about the show by clicking here.    What do you think?  Would you go see it?  I will not.  I LOVED the movie, but can't see a Broadway musical being the same.  However, if everyone says it's the best thing in the world, I might change my mind, but as of right now, nope, not for me.  I'll stick to watching the movie over and over again.   What about you?
