Wow! Just wow! This news story broke yesterday and I couldn't help but follow it to see where it went. There's a clothing company called Revolve that said they wanted to make clothing to highlight how cyber-bullying has become the norm. So they wanted slogans that have affected a lot of people. The slogan on the shirt reads "Being Fat is Not Beautiful, It's An Excuse." The shirt was supposed to be part of a collection of quotes made by people shaming others. However, the shirt was in the catalog on a thin model and the sizes available only went up to size 10. So a heavier woman wouldn't even fit into this shirt. That along with the fact that you can't read sarcasm. Sarcasm is all about your intonation, this is the worst idea I've ever seen. Revolve has since apologized, pulled the shirt and given 20,000 thousand dollars to the charity that helps young women who have been cyber bullied. I can't believe anyone ever thought this would be okay. What do you think? Are people overreacting to the shirt, or is this just one more thing that's wrong with fashion? Let me know on the 98-3 TRY Facebook page.
