Today's social dilemma happened to me over the weekend. I was having lunch on Sunday with a group of friends. When the waiter came over, he looked at me and said "Yes ma'am, how may I help you." Well, this started a big discussion about how we HATE being called ma'am. I say, and my friends agree that ma'am" is for old ladies from the 50's, and and we are NOT old ladies from the 50's. Also when I'm filling out a form that asks for my title, Miss, Mrs or Ms, I always mark Ms, not for any reason other than it's no one's business if I'm married or not. They don't ask men that question. But most importantly, DO NOT call me or my buds "Ma'am"! So what do you think? Does it bother you to be called ma'am?? Or do you think it's fine and someone just being courteous? I say ALWAYS go with Miss to be safe. What do you think? Let me know on the TRY Facebook page!
