After last Friday's insanity on the Hudson River with six different boats floating aimlessly after being knocked loose from their moorings, we have some good news about the Captain JP, which was one of those boats. The Captain JP has been around quite awhile and it's one of the most fun party boats in the area. If you've ever been on it, you know how much fun it can be to have a party while sailing down the Hudson and back. It's a beautiful fun ship. Well, after it was knocked loose, there was some fear that it had sustained too much damage to ever be back on the water the way it was before, but thankfully that's just not true. The owner of the boat, Jim Pledger says he's going to start repairs ASAP! He just needs to get the boat into dry dock down south near the Tappen Zee Bridge. Unfortunately, there are still some ice jams in the Hudson south of us so he has to wait until they clear up, but as soon as they do, the Captain JP will sail down the Hudson to it's spot for repairs. The work is expected to cost around a hundred grand, but thankfully the boat was insured. Mr. Pledger says the Captain JP will be ready for fun once the warmer weather gets here. Good news all around. I look forward to a summer night onboard the Captain JP! Hope you do too!!
