If you're like me, you would love going to The Rusty Anchor Barge/Restaurant in the summer and sit on the deck enjoying the breeze while having a few drinks and eating with some friends. It was one of those wonderful summer places to go in the Capital Region. Unfortunately about two months ago, the Rusty Anchor came lose from it's mooring and went crashing down the Hudson through icy waters, hitting bridges and even bottoming out a few times. Even after that, the owner hoped to repair the barge and reopen for the summer season. But after realizing how much damage had been done to the barge, he decided to scrap it. It just became too expensive to get it fixed. So it's a sad day for those of us who loved sitting on the deck, enjoying the warm air and hanging with friends. RIP Rusty Anchor, you will be missed.
