Social Dilemma - Is It Okay to Have a No Play List at Your Wedding??

I thought I would bring this up as today's social dilemma because I got an invitation in the mail for a friend's wedding down in Jersey in May. I'll definitely be going but there was something in the invitation that made me a little crazy, I can't lie. Along with the normal invitation and the RSVP card, along with hotel info etc. was a little piece of paper in the same type as the RSVP card that merely said this: There are certain songs we would prefer not be played at our wedding. Those songs include: The Electric Slide, Celebration, The Macarena, YMCA, The Cha Cha Slide, Cotton Eyed Joe, The Cupid Shuffle, Shout, The Chicken Dance. Please don't ask the DJ to play them. Thank you!! Okay, I admit it, this made me a little crazy. Yes, I get that it's their wedding and all, but part of the fun should be for the guests. Everyone loves to go to weddings to dance to these exact songs. They're fun, they get everyone on the dance floor. Are they hokey, sure? But so what!! We're all there to have fun and celebrate the couple. Let's do it by dancing together! Of course, I'll still go to the wedding, but let's face it, it's not going to be one of the best weddings ever.
