Well, this is interesting! According to Variety, The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization has teamed up with Skydance Television to bring us a new TV show inspired by the Broadway and Movie musical Oklahoma! The new show will be set in the present day in the heartland and of course, will include songs from the original show, though they'll be "reimagined" for the present day. There will also be new music used in the series. The show is being put together by writers and directors from This is Us and the movie The Blind Side. While this seems kind of bizarre, I admit I'm also incredibly intrigued. What about you? I've always loved the musical Oklahoma! though it's quite dated.
