Social Dilemma-Do You Like Sales People Following You in A Clothing Store?

Today's social dilemma came about because I went shopping yesterday for some new clothes. Now let me start by saying that I don't like clothes shopping. It's just not my thing. I have nothing against it, but it's just not how I like spending my day and it makes me uncomfortable. I know that's strange because most people love it, but not me. That being said, we all need to go clothes shopping from time to time to get new stuff so when I go I try to make it as painless as possible (and always go on sale days!) That being said, yesterday when I went shopping, I walked into a store that shall remain nameless and the second I walked in, the salesperson came up and asked if they could help me. I thought that was nice, but I said no thank you, I'll come and find you if I need anything (it's not that big of a store). After that conversation, the woman basically followed me around the place. Every time I picked up a shirt or looked at a pair of pants, she was right there asking me if I wanted to try it on or if there was anything she could do to help. Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate helpfulness. But I had already said, I'll call you when I need you. I was in an uncomfortable position in the first place and she made it more uncomfortable for me. I didn't know what to do so I left and ended up shopping somewhere else. Did I overreact? I never want to be mean or be a jerk, but that really drove me nuts, so I had to leave. Should I have said something to her? But I didn't want to hurt her feelings? What would you have done in this situation? Please let me know what you think on the TRY Facebook page.
