While Woodstock 50 is still up in the air, music fans will soon be able to relive the original Woodstock in a new box set. “Woodstock 50 — Back to the Garden — The Definitive 50th Anniversary Archive,” which is coming out in August, is a 38-disc, 36-hour, 432-song CD collection, with 267 of the songs never having officially been released before. The box set lays out the festival in chronological order, and will feature every song played at the festival, with the exception of three tunes. It will also feature crowd announcements and other audio moments from the fest. In addition, it will feature a Blu-ray of Michael Wadleigh’s "Woodstock" movie, a guitar strap and a replica of the original program. Artists featured on the set include The Who, Joe Cocker, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, the Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin and more. The box set won’t be cheap though. It will cost $799, although a condensed 10-disc set will also be available at a cheaper price. I won't be able to afford the big box set, but that 10 disc set sounds good. What do you think?
