The Capital Region's own American Idol finalist Madison VanDenburg made her way home yesterday with the crew of American Idol and the area turned out for her! First Maddie went to Shaker High, her high school where she was welcomed with open arms by her classmates and teachers. And then a parade was held down to the Crossings of Colonie where the streets were lined with Maddie fans! The rain didn't stop us from coming out and cheering her on! And then even in the cold and rain, Maddie put on a concert and showed why she's a finalist on the show! She belted out songs that had the crowd singing along. She even gave us a little tease for Sunday's finale...she'll be performing with Dan + Shay. You may remember that she auditioned with Speechless, which is a Dan + Shay song. All pretty cool stuff for our hometown girl. We couldn't be more proud!! Go Maddie, we're behind you all the way!!!
