Social Dilemma-Have You Ever Been To A Sip and See For A New Baby?

Today's social dilemma came from an email from Katy. This is wild and I had never heard of this before. This is what she wrote. Hi Jaime - I listen to your social dilemma every day on the way to work. I wanted to bring up something that my sister is doing this weekend. It's called a "Sip and See". I had never heard of this but my sister tells me it's something that new moms do all the time now. My sister wants to protect the baby from germs but they want the family to be able to meet the baby, whose name is Cory. So she's having a Sip and See. She's invited all the family over to meet Cory, but at a Sip and See, you have a glass of wine, but you don't get to hold the baby or even touch the baby, you just get to see it. I'm the mom of three and I let everyone hold my kids and they're fine, but my sister won't listen to me, so she's going through with the Sip and See. I was wondering if you or anyone listening had ever heard of this. Please help me out Jaime. I'm going to tell my sister to listen to what you have to say. Thanks so much ~ Katy. Well, I have to say I have NEVER heard of this in my life. I have been around a lot of new moms who are afraid that their baby will pick up germs, but most learn pretty quickly that babies are much more resilient than they originally thought.
