Boy George’s life may soon be coming to the big screen. MGM is currently working on a biopic of the Culture Club singer, which will cover both his early days growing up in Ireland, as well as his rise to international fame. Sacha Gervasi, who wrote “The Terminal,” and directed the rock documentary “Anvil: The Story of Anvil,” is on board to write and direct the film. Boy George is just the latest big name musician to get the big screen treatment, following Queen’s Fredie Mercury and Elton John, whose biopic “Rocketman” opens Friday.
MGM is also working on a biopic of Aretha Franklin, but that movie has been in the works for over eight years. Jennifer Hudson is said to be ready to take that lead role when the film is ready to shoot, but we'll have to wait and see when and if that ever happens.
