Social Dilemma-Do You Wash Your New Clothes Before You Wear Them?

Today's social dilemma came from a conversation I had with friends Saturday evening. I mentioned earlier that I had some friends over for a barbecue. it was a great night. One of my buddies, Jason, changed into a new shirt on and it looked good. So of course, we complimented him. He said he had bought it on the way over to the house. He was wearing shorts and a tshirt when he got there, but changed into the shirt as we were sitting outside after it got dark. I was mocking him a bit for wearing a new shirt without washing it first, and he said he NEVER washes his new clothes before he wears them. And I was surprised because another one of my friends agreed with him. They both said that clothes never look as good as they do on the rack and right after you first buy them so why wash them first which will make them look worn. I ALWAYS wash anything new that I buy because I know they spray the clothes with preservatives to keep them from getting mildewy when they ship them. And I also know that others may have tried on those clothes before me, so I wash them first. Only one other friend agreed with me. So am I in the minority on this?
