Today Is The 10th Anniversary of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson's Death

Hard to believe it was ten years ago today that we lost two superstars from our child hood. Early in the morning of June 25th, we got the news that Farrah Fawcett had passed away after a long battle with anal cancer. It was incredibly sad news, and of course, the cable news networks were all airing pictures and videos from Farrah's life and career. Personally, I felt sad about her passing, afterall, who among us didn't want to be one of Charlie's Angels when we were growing up. So I decided to go to the movies with my sweetie to focus my mind on something else. We went to see the second Transformers movie, Revenge of the Fallen, thinking a loud action movie would be just the thing. We came out of the movie and as I was walking through the Mall I saw a bunch of people gathered around a TV screen. I asked what was going on only to find out that Michael Jackson had passed away. This time, though it was due to a drug overdose administered by his then doctor. Some days are meant to be sad I guess. Of course, at the time of Michael's passing he was planning a huge comeback with a bunch of shows at London's O2 Arena. He had his comeback, just not the way he had hoped. Everyone was listening to the music again. Of course as time has passed, and we've seen the documentary Finding Neverland, and we know the allegations against Michael Jackson, all our memories are tainted. But still, When we were kids, there was nothing cooler than dancing to Michael Jackson music and we all wished we could have that Farrah Fawcett hair.
