New Program in Albany Allows Seniors to Dine For Free 4X a Month!

This is pretty exciting news!! Soon Albany County residents, who are 60 or older will be able to dine out for free up to four times a month for the next year and a half. There are 10 restaurants in Albany County that will offer breakfast, lunch or dinner from specific menus. It's a new program that is being paid for by a federal grant. All you (or someone you know) has to do is register with Albany County's Department for Aging. When you do that, you'll then get a keytag and vouchers for the Go and Dine Program. That entitles you to up to four free meals every single month. The restaurants that are currently participating in the program include:

  • Tesoro’s, 2080 Western Ave., Guilderland
  • Elevation Burger, 664 New Loudon Road, Latham
  • Lazeez, 35 Central Ave., Albany
  • Shaker Pointe Restaurant, One Bell Tower Drive, Watervliet
  • Hungerford Market and Café, 106 Maple Ave., Altamont
  • Martel’s, 65 O’Neil Road, Albany
  • Emma Cleary’s, 1926 New Scotland Road, Slingerlands
  • Trackside Pizza and More,1 Railroad Ave, Ravena
  • Bob’s Diner, 929 19th St., Watervliet

The program officially starts on July 15th, but you can call now for information and to register. Call the Department for Aging, 518-447-7198, for registration information.
