July 31stis Mutt’s Day! Today is a day to special our mixed breed furry friends! What makes a mutt so special? Unlike a purebred, mutts don’t come from a long lineage of dogs of the same breed. They are a mix between two or more breeds, which means no two mutts are the same! These dogs certainly deserve their own special day to celebrate their diverse heritage. My little buddy Leo is a mutt, albiet, a hypoallergenic mutt. He's a mix between a Cocker Spaniel and a Standard Poodle. We love him to bits. Our dog Beauty was a German Shephard/Collie/Sheepdog mix, and Freckles was a German Shepherd/Collie/Pointer mix. I'm a big fan of mutts!! You can always find all kinds of beautiful mutts at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society if you're ready to adopt!! Today, treat your mutt to a special treat or walk, and make sure to give them some extra love!
