Everything old is new again. Remember when television stations used to end their broadcast day with the National Anthem and a waving flag, and then the station would go to white noise until programming started up again in the morning. Well, ever since TV stations have been programmed for 24 hours, the National Anthem has gone away. But yesterday, Nexstar, the company that owns WTEN, Channel 10, said they're bringing back the old tradition. The National Anthem will now play every day at 3:59 am. The Anthem they play will no longer be the canned version we all heard back in the day. Nexstar says they'll be getting up and coming artists to record the anthem to play. That way we'll hear different versions and give those artists a chance to be heard. What do you think? Let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
