Today is My Beautiful Mom's 89th Birthday!!

I am truly blessed. Today my mom celebrates her 89th birthday! And if she keeps going like she is now, she'll be around for another 89. My mom doesn't let anything stop her. She is a breast cancer survivor, a kidney failure survivor, she had two horrible bouts of diverticulosis, and even suffered with pericarditis but nothing will stop her. She has suffered the loss of her husband and her youngest son, her brother and sisters and yet she continues on. She finds joy in small things. She loves spending time with her family and her friends. She plays Texas Hold 'Em every night with her friends, most of whom are 20 or 30 years younger than she is, and she loves every minute of it. She still makes amazing meatballs, and her sauce is the absolute best! She loves to dance. She'll sing along to her "boyfriend" Engelbert Humperdinck and when she does finally sit down, it's to watch game shows and westerns! Today we will celebrate in style with food, family and friends! But we have to make sure we're dong by 4:30 so she can get ready to go to Bingo (she has her priorities!) Happy Birthday to my beautiful mom Bridget! Like I said, I'm blessed!
