Social Dilemma-Is It Okay to Double Dip If You Flip The Chip?

Today's social dilemma came about when I was out at a friend's house on Friday night. It was a nice little backyard party. It started at 5:30 and it was fun to get together with some friends we hadn't seen in a while. Anyway, it was an easy going party. Chips and dip, pizza, soda, beer, etc. Nothing fancy. Anyway, the dilemma comes from the chip situation. There were several different types of dip, like salsa, spinach and artichoke, blue cheese, etc. I'm a salsa girl, so I was dipping into that. Well, one person came over and started dipping, but I felt it was double dipping. It was someone I know fairly well, so thankfully we were able to laugh about it, but this is what happened. He dipped his tortilla chip into the salsa, took a bite, then flipped the chip around and dipped it back into the salsa again. So I started mocking him a bit for double dipping. But he said it's not a double dip if you flip the chip. This of course, started a debate back and forth at the party. Some agreed with him, others agreed with me. What do you think? Is it double dipping if you flip the chip around. I say once the chip has gone into your mouth, if you put it back in the dip it's double dipping. Others thought that if you flip it, the part that touched your mouth is not going into the dip so it's no big deal. So what do you think?
