Social Dilemma-Is It Okay To Take Your Shoes Off On a Plane?

Today's social dilemma came about after all the flying I had to do over the course of the past two weeks. As you know, first I flew to Myrtle Beach for my niece's wedding, and then I flew to Cleveland with our friends from Proctors. I saw a lot of odd behavior on the planes I was on (six in total) and well, people do some strange stuff on planes! Some would bring their own food on the plane, which is fine, except if it's fish and it stinks up the whole cabin, others can't wait to stand when the plane lands and get their stuff out of the overhead bin, but since it takes about ten minutes for everyone to deboard, sometimes those overhead bags land on the heads of people still sitting down.. But the thing that made me the most crazy was the number of people who felt it was okay to take their shoes off on the plane. On the six different flights I was on, there were three different occasions that someone sitting next to me took their shoes off. One person took her shoes and socks off. I understand that no one is comfortable on a plane. I get it. You know I don't like to fly but it's necessary to get to your destination. But taking shoes off. It seemed inappropriate to me. And you know I'm pretty easy going. One person's feet, well, how shall I say this, well, they stunk. They had a very bad odor to them. The person who took her socks off, I just thought that was wildly inappropriate. So did I overreact? Is it okay to take your shoes off on a plane? And keep in mind, these were not long flights. The longest of all of them was about two hours and five minutes. Would you take your shoes off on a flight? Or do you think shoes should be kept on in these situations? Please let me know what you think on the TRY Facebook page.
