Social Dilemma-Is It Wrong To Ask For a Refund on Food IF You're On a Date?

Today's social dilemma came from MaryAnn, and I think it's an interesting one. I can't wait to hear what you think. This is what she wrote. Hi Jaime. I listen to your social dilemmas every day I never thought I would have one of my own but I do. I really hope you'll talk about this because I need advice and my friends are all over the place. Here's what happened. I am divorced and I belong to a singles group. I recently went out with a very nice man. I knew him through the group and when he asked me out I was happy about it. We went to a really nice restaurant and were having a lovely time. However, while we were eating, my date found a small piece of plastic in his food. It looked like it was a piece of a wrapper of some kind. He was very upset. He called the waiter over, showed it to him, and the waiter apologized and said he would bring another plate of food. My date was not happy with that. He wanted another plate of food and a refund for his meal because of the anguish of finding the wrapper. I was embarrassed. I thought he was being too harsh. Ultimately, the manager gave him the refund, but I left the date with a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. He had been so nice up to that point, but that really bothered me. When I told him that, he said he was only asking for what was fair. He has since asked me out again, but I'm not sure if I should go. I like him, but I did not like that behavior. I'm looking for some impartial advice. I hope you can give it to me. Thank you so much Jaime. ~ MaryAnn. Well, I'm a believer in letting people show you who they are. We all have bad days, but if he acted that way, and doubled down on his actions after you said it bothered you, I think that he is someone who will act that way in similar situations. But that's just my opinion. What's yours? Let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
