Even though Casinos are not set to open in NYS under the Phased Reopening until the end of June at the earliest (Phase 4) , the Turning Stone Casino and Resort, which is run by the Oneida Indian Nation, will be reopening on June 10th. Because they are their own nation, they can reopen when they see fit, and June 10th is the date. There will be new rules in place. For instance, people who head to Turning Stone will have to come from within a 120 mile radius. Yes that means we hear in the Capital Region can go, but people from NYC and other states will not be allowed in. And apparently, they'll be checking ID's at the door. Also, all buffets will be closed, and other dining establishments will stick to the six foot rule when seating people. There will be no concerts or events either for the time being. So if you've been desperate to gamble, you can travel to Verona and hit the tables.
I am still concerned about this though. Let's face it, when you're sitting at a BlackJack or Texas Hold 'Em table, you're sitting right next to one another. Plus everyone is handling the same chips and cards. I would not go, but I certainly would not judge anyone else who felt like they were comfortable with it. Personally I'll wait until Rivers or Saratoga is reopened under state guidelines, but that's just me. How do you feel about it. Let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
