We found out earlier this year that JC Penney had been forced to file for bankruptcy in the wake of everything happening in the world right now. We also found out that they were going to be closing stores due to that bankruptcy. Well now we know exactly what stores are closing and whether or not it will affect us here in the Capital Region. 154 stores are being closed all across America, and those "store closing" sales will begin next week. The good news: None of the stores that are closing are in the immediate Capital District. Stores in Auburn and Syracuse along with several other places in the NYS will close, but here in the Capital Region, we'll keep our Penney's at Crossgates Mall and Clifton Park Center. I enjoy shopping at Penney's from time to time so I'm happy we'll get to keep ours and I hope that with the filing and the closing of stores, JC Penney will emerge stronger.
