Cake Boss Buddy Velastro Impales His Hand In Strange Bowling Accident!

I had the pleasure of meeting Buddy Valastro several years ago when he came to town. He is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, so I was upset to hear about this news this morning. I mean, when you think of bowling accidents, don't you think of things like, "dropped ball on foot" or "Slipped on an exploded ketchup packet." For some reason, impalement never comes to mind. But that's what happened to "Cake Boss" star Buddy Valastro. He and his family have a bowling alley in their New Jersey home, and they were enjoying a game the other night when their pinsetter malfunctioned. Buddy reached in to dislodge a pin, and got all messed up. His rep says, quote, "his right hand became lodged and compressed inside the unit. "Unable to remove his hand, he can see a [one-and-a-half-inch] metal rod slowly and repeatedly impale his hand three times between his ring finger and middle finger." Buddy's sons actually had to cut through the metal rod with a reciprocating saw to set him free. Buddy had two surgeries, and he's home from the hospital, but his rep says he'll need, quote, "prolonged recovery and therapy."
