Well this is sad news that broke yesterday afternoon. Regal Cinemas across the country will be closing down, possibly for good in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, they're blaming in on NYS because Governor Cuomo won't allow movie theaters to reopen. Regal says that without being able to show new movies in NYC, movie studios will not release any big new movie. Governor Cuomo says the State is just trying to keep a second wave of Coronavirus from hitting and that everyone has to realize we are still in the midst of a global pandemic. Regal said it was the best decision so that their employees can go out and get other jobs.
My take on it. No one more than me loves going to the movies. It's kind of like a safe haven for me. I love escaping in the dark for two hours into another world. But it's not worth risking my life for, and until we get Covid under control, I wouldn't go whether the theaters were open or not. That's just my take. I do hope that when this is over, Regal and other movie theaters will reopen because I promise to be first in line the second I know it's safe. What do you think?
