Now it can be told – “Sister Act 3” is in the works. Whoopi Goldberg confirmed it during an appearance on The Late Late Show. “For a long time, they kept saying no one wanted to see it. And then quite recently, it turns out, that that may not be true. People may want to see it," Whoopi told superfan James Corden. “So we're working diligently to try to figure out how to get the gang together and come back.” Both “Sister Act” and “Sister Act 2” feature “The View” hostess as lounge singer turned undercover nun Sister Mary Clarence. In the first one, she was able to transform the nuns into a choir after being placed there in witness protection. The second installment finds her returning to teach high school students.
Meanwhile, Mindy Kaling is behind the next “Legally Blonde” sequel. The “Office” alum has been tapped to write “Legally Blonde 3,” recruited by none other than Elle Woods herself, Reese Witherspoon. Speaking to “Good Morning America,” Kaling says she was nervous about signing on for the project because “the movie is so iconic.” But she’s glad she did, and says ”it’s been really funny to write” a movie checking in on Elle Woods in her 40s. "I thought, ‘It'd be really fun to see that character in her 40s, what is Elle Woods dealing with as a 41-year-old woman?'" Kaling says. "I'm working on it with my friend Dan [Goor], and I think it's going to be a great movie for Reese and people are going to love to see her in this part."
I can't wait to see both of these movies! What about you?
