That "Secret Santa or Secret Sister" Invite on Facebook Is a Scam!

Have you recently been tagged or invited to a special gift exchange on Facebook. Maybe it's called "Secret Santa" or "Secret Sister?" Don't buy into it. The Better Business Bureau if warning that it is a scam! If you're received an invitation that basically asks you to join and you have to provide your name and address to someone and then you're promised up to 36 gifts in exchange for sending out one, it's a pyramid scheme. It all sounds nice. Who doesn't want to get more gifts at Christmas? But it's not only a scam, but it's an illegal scam. So as much as it sounds like fun, and a great way to get gifts, don't do it. In fact, if you get an invitation to join one of these groups, ignore it completely. And if you're so inclined, report it to the higher ups at Facebook. Best to just exchange gifts with family and friends, then you know where they're coming from and what you can expect, even if it is homemade booties or a new tie! :)
