We have such a beautiful kitty from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society as our Pet of the Week. Rocky is a 6-and-a-half-year-old domestic longhair that is looking for a very understanding home. Rocky is a sweet, affectionate boy who knows how to be a pet. What makes him special though? Rocky has diabetes. Rocky came to us when his owner lost her job and could no longer be sure that she could care for his medical needs. While his diabetes is under control at the shelter, you will definitely need to talk to your vet about how to continue his care. Don't be overwhelmed by his diabetes though. It's not difficult to care for a kitty with the illness, and he's such a lover, he's worth the extra time.
