Rod Stewart is set to sing this weekend for the 36th America’s Cup, taking place in New Zealand. Rod has signed on to sing “Sailing” in a taped performance from London, which will be broadcast Saturday on a big screen in Auckland’s America’s Cup Village. The performance will celebrate the beginning of the race, and is being seen as a way to send a message of unity and togetherness for the competitors and the fans. “I’m excited to be performing for the America’s Cup in New Zealand and Sailing is the perfect fit,” Rod shares. “With fans being unable to travel, I’m hoping that this special performance will remind us that we’re all in this together.” Hopefully this also means that Rod is getting ready to head back out on tour soon if all keeps going well with Covid vaccinations and lower infection rates. Rod is due to play SPAC on July 31st. Let's hope we get to see him live!
