Today in NYS, people 50 and older are now eligible to be vaccinated against Covid-19. And as more and more people become eligible, some companies are putting their products out there to help as an incentive for people to get their shot. Both Uber and Lyft are offering free rides to any vaccination site. So if you have trouble getting to the SUNY Campus or whatever pharmacy or other facility you're getting vaccinated at, let Uber or Lyft take you there for free. And yesterday, Krispy Kreme announced that they will be giving a free donut every single day this year to anyone who comes in with a vaccination card. That's a lot of free donuts, but that's how far they're willing to go to make sure people get those shots! My guess would be that more and more companies will be jumping on this as we all want the world to return to some kind of normalcy, and we can't really do that completely until we've reached herd immunity which is about 80% of the population vaccinated! And since we don't have a Krispy Kreme in the area, just so you know, the closest ones are in Uncasville, CT at Mohegan Sun or the Bronx. Both are about two hours away. Not a bad drive for a free donut if you ask me!
