It's possible that we've soured on Ellen Degeneres, because her ratings are down a lot since she addressed those allegations of a "toxic workplace" on her show last year. According to the New York Times, Ellen is averaging about 1.5 million viewers over the past six months . . . down from 2.6 million over the same period last year. That's a 43% decline. In daytime TV, that drops her from the level of "Live with Kelly and Ryan" (2.7 million viewers) and "Dr. Phil" (2.5 million) to the level of shows hosted by Maury Povich (1.4 million) and Kelly Clarkson (1.3 million). By the way, I love the Kelly Clarkson show! It's possible that she could bounce back though. She's signed through next season, which launches this fall. But if the slide continues, the future of the show beyond that could be in jeopardy. Have you stopped watching the Ellen show after all the drama about a "toxic workplace?"
